Question:
If I am a new patient what can I expect when I come to your office for my first visit?

Answer:
Once your appointment is scheduled, you will receive an email confirmation three days prior to your appointment and another two days prior to your appointment. You will also receive a courtesy reminder by phone the day before your appointment.

As a new patient, you will complete two forms – a patient information form and a short medical history form. We will need to make a photocopy of your driver’s license for your chart for identification purposes.

If you are having a consultation, you will discuss your concerns with our provider. Together, you will decide which treatments or services best suit your needs. You may wish to schedule your treatment for another day or, if our scheduled time permits, have your treatment on the day of your consultation.

The treatments you are going to receive will be explained to you by your provider and you will sign consent forms prior to being treated.

If numbing is required, you will be asked to arrive prior to your scheduled time for your treatment to allow time for numbing appropriate to your specific treatment.

Question:
Is there a long wait time when I arrive?

Answer:
Our appointments are scheduled very efficiently to allow more patients the opportunity to get in for their treatment as soon as possible. Therefore, our providers try to maintain a punctual appointment schedule. While unexpected delays can occur, they are rare. Your wait time should be minimal.

Question:
If I am late for my appointment, will I still be seen?

Answer:
If you find you will be late for your appointment, it is best to call and check with our scheduling staff to see if that will impact the next patient’s appointment time. While we do everything we can to accommodate our patients, we cannot take someone else’s scheduled time from them. Our schedule is designed to run smoothly and efficiently for each patient out of respect for your valuable time. Therefore, if you must be late, it is possible that we will need to reschedule your appointment at a more convenient time for you.

Question:
How do I know which treatment is right for me?

Answer:
The best answer to this question is…. What concerns YOU the most about YOU?

We can help you choose any treatment or a combination of treatments that best suit your needs. Most treatments can be combined and performed on the same day.

If you are concerned about the health and/or appearance of your skin, it is best to schedule a consultation to review your concerns and consider all your options prior to scheduling a treatment.

If you are interested in dermal fillers such as Juvederm®, Voluma®, Restylane®, Restylane® Silk, Radiesse® or Belotero®, or neurotoxins such as Botox® or Dysport® for wrinkles and fine lines, you may schedule a consultation or schedule your treatment at the time of your consultation.

If you are interested in treatments for fat reduction and body shaping, such as CoolSculpting®, or skin tightening with our Venus Legacy™ treatments, we recommend you come in for a consultation to discuss treatment options and planning.

Question:
Do I have to sign consents before treatments each time?

Answer:

Yes. Each treatment involves certain risks and possible complications that you need to be aware of prior to being treated. By your signature, you are entering an agreement that you understand those risks and possible complications and consent to receive the treatment.

Question:

Is numbing required for each treatment?

Answer:

Numbing is not required, however, we do highly recommend numbing for laser treatments and injectable filler treatments. Numbing times vary depending on the treatment. You will be advised on the time to be allotted for numbing at the time of scheduling your treatment. Some other treatments do not require numbing.

Question:

Are the results of my treatment guaranteed?

Answer:

No. While we strive to provide the best possible results with each treatment, every patient is different with regards to healing, swelling, bruising, absorption, and other factors that can alter the final results a patient will achieve. Other factors such as medical conditions, lifestyle, and environmental exposure can play a role in the results of your treatments as well. While no guarantees are made, our highly trained, experienced specialists make every attempt to provide optimum results for each patient with each treatment.

Question:

After my initial treatment, is there a fee for my follow ups or additional treatments if I need them?

Answer:

For Injectable Fillers, Laser Treatments, MicroPen™ Treatments, Chemical peels, Venus Treatments, and CoolSculpting®:

If you require additional treatments to achieve optimum results, there will be a fee for those treatments. While you may feel these are considered “touch-up” treatments, they still require additional products and treatment time. Therefore, each treatment you receive will involve a fee.

For Botox® and Dysport® Treatments:

It is our goal to make our patients happy with their treatments. Therefore, we encourage our patients to make a follow-up appointment within 7 to 14 days of the initial treatment so we can evaluate the results and provide a complimentary touch-up if needed.

Question:

Is there anything I need to discontinue taking or doing prior to my treatments?

Answer:

If you are scheduling a laser treatment or a chemical peel, you will need to discontinue using Retin-A or a Retinol product for at least one week prior to your treatment.

If you are having an injectable filler or Botox® /Dysport® treatment, or CoolSculpting® treatment, you will need to stop taking aspirin, ibuprofen, herbal products, multivitamins, drinking red wine, or taking any medications that can thin the blood for 10 days prior to your treatment. Check with your personal physician if you have a medical condition that requires you to take anything that thins your blood before discontinuing these medications.

It is best to discuss all medications you currently take with your provider before receiving treatments.

Question:

Medically speaking, is there anything I need to do or take prior to treatment?

Answer:

If you have a history of cold sores or fever blisters, you will need to take an anti-viral medication three days prior to your treatment. You may call us and we will call in a prescription to your pharmacy.

If you bruise easily, you should take Arnica and Bromelain three days prior to your treatments. You can purchase these at any health food store over the counter. Just follow the instructions on the packaging.

It is very important to fully disclose any health conditions (past or present), past problems with treatments or surgeries, or any allergies or reactions you may have had in the past or have in the present before undergoing any treatments.

If you have a history of fainting or light-headedness, vasovagal reactions (passing out) when you have treatments, please notify your nurse or provider before undergoing any treatments.

Question:

What can I do to prevent bruising?

Answer:

Some people bruise more easily than others. There is no way to anticipate who will bruise or not.

If you have an injectable filler treatment, Botox® or Dysport® treatment, or CoolSculpting® treatment, you will need to discontinue the use of aspirin, ibuprofen, herbal products, multivitamins, drinking red wine, or taking any medications that can thin the blood for 10 days prior to your treatment.

WARNING: If you are under the care of a physician and taking medications that thin your blood or are taking a prescription blood thinner, you must check with your personal physician prior to discontinuing these medications.

You can take Arnica and Bromelain three days prior to your treatments to help curtail bruising. You can purchase these at any health food store over the counter. Just follow the instructions on the packaging.

Even after taking these preventative steps, you may still experience some bruising. We provide ice packs after each injectable treatment to help alleviate possible bruising. It is best to continue using the ice packs according to instructions from your specialist after your treatment.
