Dermal Fillers and Injectables in Dallas, TX
Skin often reveals our true age because of the inevitable signs of the aging process, such as fine lines, wrinkles, sagging skin, and sun damage. The older we are, the longer our skin has been exposed to pollutants in the environment and harmful sun rays. With time, skin cells progressively lose their capacity for producing hyaluronic acid. As a result, the skin becomes dehydrated, the collagen and elastin fibers in the skin lose their structure, and there is a decrease in the skin’s elasticity and volume, resulting in skin folds and wrinkles. These are the most common characteristics associated with aging and a person’s appearance.
Fortunately, there are non-invasive, non-surgical options available to help you counteract the effects of aging, which can help you bridge the gap between daily skin care regimens and skin care products and full-fledged cosmetic surgery. Options include neurotoxins such as Botox® and Dysport®, as well as additional injectable dermal fillers. They can be used either alone or in conjunction with other treatments to help mask one’s true age by improving the appearance of lines, sunken skin, wrinkles, skin folds, and creases on and around the face. Injectable dermal fillers can also be used to enhance certain facial features, such as the cheekbones or lips, giving them a more youthful appearance. The Bloom Medical Spa, led by Medical Director and board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. David G. Genecov, is proud to offer dermal fillers and injectables to residents of Dallas, Plano, and the surrounding Texas community.
What Are Injectable Fillers?
There are some things you can do to take care of your skin and help combat the signs of aging at home, but almost everyone will experience fine lines, wrinkles, and a loss of facial volume at some point in their later life. Non-surgical, injectable fillers, such as Juvederm®, Sculptra®, can be an additional tool to help harness the youthful appearance of your past.
Why Choose The Bloom Medical Spa for Dermal Fillers and Injectables?
All of our dermal filler injections are performed by Carolyn Craft, R.N., a licensed registered nurse and certified injector.
How Do I Know If I’m A Good Candidate for an Injectable Filler Procedure?
Injectable fillers have been proven to be safe and effective when used to treat the evidence of natural aging in the skin, but it is important that you are in good overall health and realistic about your goals and expectations of the treatment. Our certified injector specialists will meet with you to help you understand exactly how dermal fillers and injectables work so that you can make the right choice for you and your skin.

What Will Happen During A Consultation For Injectable Fillers?
Before undergoing any cosmetic treatment, all patients are provided a consultation with a certified injector specialist. During this consultation, your medical history, skin needs, and goals will be discussed. Information regarding the facility, each available procedure, potential risks, side effects, post care, and all associated treatment costs will be given. With all of this information, you can make an informed decision on which dermal filler or injectable best suits your needs and have the opportunity to schedule your treatment date.
Will I Receive Anesthesia For My Injectable Filler Procedure?
Patients are given either a numbing gel, topical anesthetic or local anesthetic before any injection treatment begins.
How Are Injectable Fillers Performed?
Injectable filler treatments are relatively quick and produce only a little discomfort. All that’s involved is performing a series of injections using a superfine needle that’s inserted just under the skin at the site of treatment.
How Long Does The Procedure For An Injectable Filler Last?
Most patients are in and out in 45 minutes per treatment session. Some injectables do require multiple appointments.
How Much Pain Can I Expect From The Injectable Filler Procedure?
Due to the anesthesia, there is little to no pain or discomfort felt during their treatment.
What Should I Expect Of The Recovery After My Injectable Filler Procedure?
Unlike surgical treatment options, the only aftereffects of an injectable filler are minor redness and some swelling at the treatment site, which lasts 24 to 48 hours.
Should I Plan To Take Time Off From Work After My Injectable Filler Procedure?
There is no downtime associated with injectable filler treatments and you are able to return to work immediately following your appointment.
Will My Injectable Filler Procedure Be Covered By Insurance?
Injectable fillers are not generally covered by medical insurance. They are considered to be a purely cosmetic procedure. All treatments are to be paid at the time of service. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, cashier’s checks, money orders, and cash payments.
How Long Can I Expect The Results Of My Injectable Filler Procedure To Last?
The longevity of your results will vary based on your individual circumstances and the filler that was used. Injectables and dermal fillers are not a permanent solution and follow-up treatments will be required in order to maintain results. The results from Juvederm® and other adipose tissue injections generally last for about six months, while Restylane® and Perlane® results can last for up to 12 months. Both Voluma™ and Sculptra® are considered to be long-term treatments with results lasting for two years or more.
